Limestone is a sedimentary rock this natural stone formed mainly of skeletal fragments of many different marine organisms; resembles untouched beds of the ocean with displays of remaining shells and corals.
There are two major minerals that limestone is made of Aragonite & Calcite. Both minerals are known as crystal forms of calcium carbonate. Due to such a high calcium carbonate content, limestone is pretty similar to marble, which is quite interesting since marble is actually a metamorphic rock that is another form of limestone. Therefore, limestone and marble have almost the same maintenance requirements and properties.
Commonly limestone is produced in matte finish, most of them are unable to take a high polished due to its delicate nature. Limestone displays hues of soft ivory to subtle browns and greys, which compliment any coastal surrounds. A low to mid-range hardness allows these limestones to be used internally and externally.
